April 29th Vicksburg Mississippi

Image
We traveled about 5 hours to get to Vicksburg Mississippi, the site of a major battle in the civil war. We are camping at Ameristar casino campground a nice campground. We had to support the local casino so Becky put in a dollar and within 10 minutes it was gone

Each Street at the campground is named after an animal. Someone carved these two and then they decorate them. Have a very nice swimming pool that's included in the price of the campground. The price is slightly more than most state campgrounds but still very reasonable.

Day at the beach and last day in Gulf State Park

Here's a map of the complete State Park.  They have two Bridges that you can ride your bicycle over to the beach or the lodge Some old guy on the beach Fishing Pier that was obviously damaged in a storm Beautiful white sand Cute little chick I picked up This is the beach complex that we can easily ride our bicycles to.

We had some bad news that really turned out good. We were coming into a town and someone came around us flashing their lights. They told us that something was wrong with the trailer tire. We changed it with the spare then called a Goodyear tire store in Pensacola, 50 miles ahead. We got there and we left with a new tire in about 30 minutes.  Golf Shores is one of our favorite campsites. It is huge, but it has everything. Beach, swimming pool, many many miles of bike trails. We rode 17 miles yesterday and have not done them all. Also, they support Geocaching. The pictures below are some of the sights. We also, at the the Original Oyster House in Gulf Shores, lunch was great and price was reasonable.
