Day two of Durango
We started our day out with a ride on the Durango to Silverton railway. Many times the train is right on the edge of the cliffs. The pictures don't really do it justice.
The trip was actually to Cascade Canyon about 25 miles from Durango. The trip to Silverton is not open yet and we think it's because of snow.
Here are some pics from the train.
The trip was well worth the money and it was a beautiful day. The pulled pork sandwich that they sold was very good.
The train left at 9:30 a.m. and got back at 2:30 p.m. so we decided to take a drive to see Mesa Verda cliff dwellings
32 years ago we were here and walked all the way down into the dwellings and into a kiva. If you look closely at the next picture you can see a ladder sticking out of the kiva. Actually looks like two sticks.
